Core Laser presents to Professional Baseball Players

The Laser Gym team recently got the opportunity to present and demonstrate the use of the Core Laser to a group of 20 professional baseball players. All of these athletes are managed by Page Odle and his experienced team at PSI Sports Management,LLC.  Every week this group of athletes takes a break from their normal workout routines to meet, while various presenters speak to them about products and services they might be interested in using.

The Laser Gym team started off by explaining to the players that in order to deliver power in both a baseball swing and thrown pitch a player must be able to transfer the force created from the bodies major movers like the quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes, to the upper body where the strike (baseball swing) or throw occurs.

They discussed how using the Core Laser properly can be a critical tool that will improve the flexibility, strength, and control of their hips and core, while ingraining patterns of movement directly applicable to movements used in baseball.  They also demonstrated how it can be a fantastic therapeutic tool for those players suffering from back and hip pain, as it increases blood flow, range of motion, and strength in these areas. The Laser Gym team then tested several of the athletes and as expected all were incredibly strong but had limited range of motion and were restricted while trying to execute some of the more dynamic movements of the core laser. The players were very surprised and quickly realized the benefits The Core Laser could bring them.

One of the final players to test the Core laser and who received the presentation very well was Major League hopeful and new Los Angeles Angles of Anaheim signee, Anthony Pluta. Originally drafted in the 3rd round (97th overall) by the Houston Astros.  Like many professional baseball players, Anthony is fighting back from an ulner collateral ligament injury and “Tommy John” surgery.  As a power pitcher with a fastball in the mid 90′s Anthony understands that much of his power comes from his hips and is excited to see what greater flexibility, more control and increased strength by using the Core Laser can do for his game.

The Laser Gym team wishes Anthony all the best as he heads off to spring training in March.
