Executive Team
Rick Jeffrey, CEO Laser Gym:
Real Estate Developer and martial arts enthusiast Rick Jeffrey, co-founded Laser Gym in 2009. His extensive 30 years of experience in such Martial Art practices as Baguazhane, Xingyiguan, and Kung Fu San Soo, combined with his love for sports, particularly baseball, drove him to the creation of the Core Laser, Laser Gym’s first revolutionary product.
“Over years and years of studying martial arts and watching my kids play sports, I’ve learned that the best at their craft have impeccable mechanics. This principle was paramount in the creation of the Core Laser as the goal was to give people an easy to use, everyday tool to promote proper bio mechanics in that area of their body.”
The Core laser is not limited to sports training or back pain relief; the possibilities for “direct visual feedback” are endless.
“My goal is to help people enjoy their favorite activities pain free and to the best of their abilities. I’ve had so many friends over the years on my construction site that are completely crippled by their back pain and it has been so rewarding to be able to give them a means to not only relieve the pain but prevent it from coming back.”
Rick makes his home in Santa Barbara with his wife Lisa and has three children.
Ryan Jeffrey, Executive Vice President Laser Gym:
In 2009, Ryan decided to leave a job in finance to pursue his passion for sports and Kinesiology, founding Laser Gym with his father, Rick. “It’s the best decision I’ve ever made,” he says. “I now get to combine my interest in Kinesiology and business to create and develop products that better peoples’ lives.” “
While earning his B.A. in Economics at Claremont McKenna College, Ryan was an all-league starting pitcher. “I always had some small injury. I probably spent an hour a day in the training room.” Ryan’s misfortunes as an athlete turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as they gave him the knowledge and experience needed for the development of the Core Laser, and other Laser Gym products. “It was so frustrating to be injured all the time,” he remembers, “but now I realize that I was receiving a free education in Kinesiology and biomechanics. In addition to that, I trained for years with an incredibly knowledgeable doctor, Marcus Elliot, at p3, which enriched my understanding of the human body tremendously.”
Ryan enjoys keeping active, playing tennis, golf, baseball and surfing. He makes his home in Santa Barbara, CA.
Andrew Coster, Vice President-Business Development
Andrew Coster joined the Laser Gym executive team in 2011. Having an extensive background in biotech sales and marketing, Andrew offers a unique skill set to aid in executing the Core Laser brand strategy along with the overall mission of Laser Gym. “There is something very profound in the simplicity and effectiveness of the Core Laser and the Laser Gym training modalities in development.”
Coster, a native of South Africa, moved to the USA in 1995. He earned a football scholarship to Northern Michigan University where he handled all the place kicking responsibilities as a true Freshman and earned a B.Sc in Management. “Having played sports my entire life, whether it be Rugby and Cricket in South Africa or Football here in the US, I have seen what a lifetime of impact on the body can do to an individual. After Rick showed me what the Core Laser could do for me personally in relieving my lower back pain, I jumped at the opportunity be a part of the team.”
Prior to joining Laser Gym, Andrew was involved in the sales and marketing of dermatology and oncology biologic drugs. “Coming from selling some of the most complex drugs on the market (genetically engineered antibodies), I believe that healthcare providers are actively seeking simple, uncomplicated and effective treatment modalities for their patients without the potential dangers of traditional options. The Core Laser fits that perfectly.”
Andrew enjoys golfing, running and tennis. He makes his home in Phoenix.
