Staying motivated to exercise during the winter

Just because the temperatures drop and the weather gets bad doesn’t mean you need to stop exercising.  Many people think that the winter is a perfect time to take a break from exercising and enjoy the holidays by eating!  This can cause a major interruption to your routine and fitness goals, as well as over all health.  Most people get discouraged and tired when they are cold.

So, the first step toward motivating ones self to go out into the cold for a workout is to warm the body up a few degrees.  This can be done by stretching indoors before heading out side for your work out.  Another great way to get motivated to work out during the cold months is purchasing warm and comfortable exercise clothes.  Knowing that your body will stay warm in your workout clothes can make a huge difference when you’re debating whether or not to head out for a jog when it’s negative 10 degrees outside.

The final recommendation is to purchase home exercise equipment that you can set up in your home during the cold season.  No matter what time of the year it is, maintaining a consistent work out schedule, setting fitness goals will keep your body and mind healthy.

Core Laser

The Core Laser is about to be introduced to the world by the reputable company Laser Gym.  This is a revolutionary product that will blow the minds of everyone in the fitness world.  It has been designed by fitness professionals to improve the flexibility, strength, and control of the users’ hips and core, while ingraining patterns of movement directly applicable to comparable movements used in a variety of sports. These include the golf swing, the bat swing in baseball, several of the different swings used in racket sports as well as other sport specific, rotational movements. In addition, it is a fantastic therapeutic tool for those suffering from back and hip pain, as it increases blood flow, range of motion, and strength in these areas.

No other device utilizes laser technology to illustrate the movement of the hips so that the user can see how their body is actually moving.

This unique “direct visual feedback” provides an unrivaled “mind body” connection, which is what allows users to increase flexibility, strength, delivery of power and overall physical wellbeing in such dramatic fashion.

Travel and Fitness

If your job keeps you constantly on the road and checking in from one hotel to another, you many often find yourself looking for different ways to exercise.

Below we have listed some of the top ways to stay in shape while traveling, most of which do not require any equipment or fitness centers.

1.  Swim:  If your hotel has a pool throw on your swimsuit and swim some laps.  This is a great cardiovascular workout and is one of the easiest exercises on your body.  You will sleep great and have energy to walk the trade show floor in the morning.

2.  Run or Walk:  This depends on the location of your hotel, but almost any city or town has designated paths or trails that you can utilize.  Ask the front desk or concierge if they have a running map for the area and if not walk up and down the stairs a couple of times to get your heart pumping.

3.  Push-ups & Sit ups:  These are two great exercises that you can do anywhere and are a great way to burn calories.

4.  Exercise DVD:  If you are one who likes to workout using a specific program, don’t forget to pack your workout video and make sure to request a DVD player in your room.

5.  Jumping jacks: This is an easy exercise that can be a great way to get your blood pumping and burn some calories. You can easily do these in your hotel room, just make sure you don’t do them late at night when the room below you is sleeping.

By committing yourself to continuing your exercise routine while traveling and by exhibiting a little initiative, you can find creative ways to work out no matter where you are.  Don’t forget to pack some comfortable workout clothes and shoes into your bag on your next trip!
